February 13, 2013

For any who have taken the first five courses of our discipleship program, course #6 "Ecclesiology and Eschatology" will be offered this Spring.

April 26,  2013

This is the second open mic night, for the community of Central, Louisiana. Unplugged will be hosted again by Central Bible Church, which is located at 8889 Sullivan Road, in Central, Louisiana, next to Sullivan Hardware.

Come and join the community on April 26th, as CBC hosts an open mic night. Musicians are encouraged to take the stage from 7-9, and are welcome to sign up early to reserve their space on stage. Tanner Stockton and The Coal-Bear Rapport will headline the evening and play from 9-10.

Artists who would like to 1-3 songs are welcome to sign up in advance by contacting Matthew Anderson at Mcanderson86@gmail.com, by posting on the event wall (on facebook), or at the door that evening. Of course you should bring your own instruments (piano can be provided), and please keep in mind that this is a family friendly event (song choice/ lyrics will need to be approved before performance).

May 19th and 26th, 2013

B2: The Historical Development of Modern Hermeneutics. This course originated as a Friday-Saturday seminar, and is going to be offered as a two Sunday night seminar in May. It is a supplemental course to our discipleship courses Bibliology and Hermeneutics and Ecclesiology and Eschatology. It helps the student understand the roots of both Covenantalism and Dispensationalism, two of the primary hermeneutical (science of interpreting Scripture) systems in the church today. In these two Sunday nights, we will seek to understand the two systems and gain a better understanding of questions such as: Why do some denominations baptize infants? Who is the Israel of God? Why are there so many different views on the end times? Both nights will include a meal. There is a suggested donation of $10 for the course to help cover the cost of class materials and the meal. June 2013

Sunday Evening Worship Service. Starting in June 2013, we will once again offer a Sunday evening worship service. We will begin a study from the Pastoral Epistles titled: Godly Leaders: Becoming the Men and Women God is Calling to Lead His Church.

Women's Ministry Study. Starting June 6th, the women's ministry of CBC will begin a study of The Kay Arthur and David and BJ Lawson's book "Loving God and Others: The Heart of True Faith." This is a six week, forty minute each session study of the two greatest commandments: To love God, and to love others. Please email Amy Jacobs to enroll - amy@jasonlonjacobs.com.

July 2013

B1: Bible Study Methods. In this eight week course, the studend will learn basic techniques to become a more proficient student of the Word of God. You will build the skills needed to connect the ancient world revealed in Scripture to the modern world we now live. These skills are learned through lecture and practice (homework) while we as a class study through the book of Jude together week by week. Please email church@central-bible.org to enroll.
